apple ipad now available for pre-order

If you’re living in the US, you can now pre-order the iPad, the latest wonder gadget from Apple, from the US Apple Store. The Wi-Fi version (16, 32 and 64 GB) is available from $499 to $699, while the Wi-Fi + 3G model (16, 32 and 64 GB) is available from $629 to $829. Wi-fi version orders will be sent out from April 3, while the 3G version from late April.

I do think the iPad is perfect for me when I’m travelling as it’s much lighter than a Mac laptop and doesn’t take too much weight and space in my handcarry. All the essential functions I would need while on a trip – like checking and writing emails, tweeting, surfing blogs and connecting on Facebook, as well as watching movies and reading a “book” – are available on the iPad so I’m seriously considering one. And I think the iPad Case is smart, too.

No launch date has been announced yet for the Norwegian market.

i got me a new panasonic camera!

While walking around town with Biancaboo today, I found my new camera which I have been planning to get since my Panasonic DMC TZ1 started malfunctioning from falling off a balcony about a month ago.

With Panasonic’s amazing Leica lens and super high performance in a compact form, I decided to stick to what I know works best. So I upgraded to the newest line offering – the Panasonic DMC TZ7 in a stylish blue metal body.

Some of the features of the Panasonic DMC TZ7 camera include a 12x optical zoom that’s equivalent to 25-300mm range, 10 megapixels, 720p HD video recording, a face recognition program, optical image stabilization system and a huge 3-inch LCD screen. It is also slimmer than my previous camera that it’s not a problem fitting into my Wapity.

I did a quick test shot and here’s the result using the camera’s macro mode. There is even a Macro Zoom mode which I’m eager to try out later.

I was walking around the office today and decided to test drive the 3.2 mp camera on my Nokia E71. I decided to play with the pre-set modes such as landscape and close-up, in addition to auto mode.

A big thanks to my mom, by way of a friend who was in the Philippines recently, I now own the sleek and stylish Nokia E71 Smartphone in Grey Steel. My mom has gifted me the unit, just like my previous Nokia 6300 which was a present from two years ago.

I am so loving this phone! It’s my first smartphone and it’s not called smart for nothing. I can check my emails instantaneously, browse the web seamlessly and enjoy applications both serious and fun by switching modes with a click of a button. It’s also my first phone with a full keyboard and initially I thought I would have a hard time typing on the keys, but the E71’s keyboard is so tactile that the letters respond at even the slightest of touch.

You cannot deny that the E71 is also handsome, thanks to its streamlined thin form, stainless steel casing and a patterned mirror finish rear.

Since I got it last Monday, I’ve installed a Mac theme, set-up my Yahoo! Plus Mail, Tweeted, Facebooked and Youtubed. Packed with applications that challenge my daily (work/home) laptops and running on a Symbian platform that enables me to fire up a vast array of programs, the E71 is for now the perfect phone for me.
