shoes (!!!) and a munny

I am soooooooooooooooo happy today!

shoes_munny.jpg

Bought three pairs of shoes (one’s a gift from Knut) from Stress and they were all on sale – it’s 199 kroner each (25 Euros = 18.50 GBP = 37 USD). I got a white Le Coq Sportif sneakers with silver and gold details, a riotous pair of I {adidas} Rio sneakers, and another Adidas rubber shoes in crazy streaks of green and silver. I freakin’ love ’em! I love me colors, y’know. Haha! Knut got himself a white I {adidas} Tokyo sneakers, very cool ’cause he has lived in and does love Tokyo!

I was also able to buy my very first Munny, which came with four surprise accessories – a pair of goggles, a cape, a Bowie knife and a spraycan (not pictured). I was thinking of customizing him into a rubber duckie. Or spray-paint him in gold, and the accessories in silver. I don’t know yet. For anyone in Oslo who are interested to customize your own, Munny (7-inch) is available at Stress boutiques for 249 kroner.

snaps from aker brygge

I woke up rather late today and decided to walk towards Aker Brygge and have late lunch there. Instead of dashing right into a restaurant, I decided to take pictures since everything around me was beautiful – the snow on the ground, the docked ferries and boats, and the Oslo Fjord reflecting the dramatic colors of the sky.

I ended up having Malaysian chicken satay with peanut sauce (I think this is the only thing I like about Malaysia) at Coco Vika, a stone’s throw from Aker Brygge. Have a nice week everyone!

sunday brunch at olivia

I’ve always wanted to have Sunday brunch, but skipping the expensive Sunday Jazz Brunch of Grand Hotel, my friend and I opted for the cozy confines of Olivia Restaurant in Aker Brygge, the pedestrianized quay beside the Oslo Fjord.

We both had Panini al Pollo, with chicken, pesto rosso, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato. The place is so intimate and the ambience is warm, the service was good too, and so was the sandwich. The prices are quite reasonable (in Oslo standards), 98 kroner (12 Euros = 9 GBP = 18 USD) and 35 kroner for a bottled juice.

Afterwards, we walked around, past the dockyards with Akershus Fortress across the fjord and the Nobel Peace Center where I saw bags and purses made with fruit juice packagings from the Philippines at the museum shop. We walked further towards the city center, passing the Louis Vuitton store, and I didn’t notice until now how nice the facade of the building is.

We then took a bus to another friend’s apartment, where we had dinner later today. We had crispy duck with all sorts of greens in rice paper we had to roll ourselves. Fun! We also watched the 2008 European Men’s Handball Championship where Norway won over Montenegro in their preliminary play-off match.
