louis vuitton birdcages; from oslo to soho

For Valentine’s/Spring 2010, Louis Vuitton Oslo (and many LV stores around the world) has updated its window display to feature these wonderful golden birdcages. I love how the leafless trees are reflected on the window; looks like the cages are hanging on them.

Featured in these cages are bags and shoes/slides in the Monogram Vernis leather, as well as accessories from the Animania collection, inspired by wooden toys collected by Gaston Louis-Vuitton in the early 20th century.

I have been featuring Louis Vuitton window displays every now and then, in Oslo and in places I travel to. And then there is this creative, funny and brilliant NY-based blogger named Julia Chesky who’s mastered (and captured) the art of window shopping and dedicated an entire blog on the ever changing window displays of Manhattan. Her blog has become my comfort food – or the equivalent of that in the blogging world. It’s refreshing to see our favorite fashion pieces – from Prada to Burberry, Chanel to Dior, and most of the other brands you could imagine in between – pictured in settings other than your normal ad campaign or press release. Up close and personal.

She’s also taken photos of the Louis Vuitton windows in Soho recently, featuring the same birdcages. And she says she loves them. :-)

Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous!!! What a unique idea for a window display. I love not only how it ties into a newer collection but how it does such a great job at making the pieces stand out. Great work by LV and thank you for sharing Julia’s blog.

Usually when bird cages are used there’s jewelry inside. In this case there’re a lot of bird cages and they have handbags inside. I love it. Thank you for sharing the eye candy.

Visual merchandising influences the consumer behaviour especially when it concerns impulse buying. The main techniques of influencing the buying behaviour involve in-store product display and floor merchandising.
