in transit: athens & mykonos, greece

We are flying to Greece tomorrow morning for our much-awaited 10-night summer holiday. Knut and I are spending two nights in classical Athens before sailing into cosmopolitan Mykonos.

I cannot wait to climb Acropolis and visit the temple of Athena, the Parthenon and admire the long-standing monuments of ancient Greece. A wander around Plaka, Athen’s old town, is also in our agenda.

Then it’s off to the sun-drenched island of Mykonos, where we look forward to languid afternoons under the sun with a book in hand and our iPods on play. While the island is known for its intense nightlife and party beach scene, we’ll try to look for places tucked in relaxed vibe. Also, we’ll relish in Greek cuisine, explore the beaches the island has to offer, and do as the Greeks do for 11 fabulous days.

Have an awesome week guys!

Oh my…greece at this time of the year is perfect!:-) Mykonos is such a beautiful place…greek islands are magical. But be sure to put on lots of sunblock…

I miss my travels there in 2005…darn…

are you heading to Santorini as well?

Santorini will have to wait some other time. It’s too far to travel to, so we chose to just relax in Mykonos and not island hop. But Santorini looks hella dramatic. Anything over in Athens and Mykonos I shouldn’t miss? :)

Have a nice trip Mark! Odd and I we’re planning to travel to Athens this December to visit our bff Martha. We wanted to do it before school starts but it’s freaking warm there now.

I travelled many times in Athens, really like virtually.

Indeed the best place to relax. Enjoy your trip.
