can you hear that swooosh?

MacBook Air

Steve Jobs does it again. He now delivers MacBook Air, the world’s thinnest notebook. It makes my Powerbook look like a telephone directory.

It’s only 0.16 to 0.76 inch thin and weighs only 3 pounds, and yet it packs a 13.3-inch widescreen LED backlit display, a full keyboard that illuminates in the dark, and an oversize multi-touch trackpad that does the wonders of the gesture-based input (pinch, swipe and rotate) from the iPhone and iPod Touch. I’m not sure about the missing optical drive though, I still like popping in those DVDs and importing music from CDs. Okay, okay, I don’t see myself spending on iTunes. Haha! But if I could spend 14,290 kroner at minimum for the 80-GB model (USD 1,799 on the Apple Store), then I don’t think renting movies on iTunes would be a problem.

Watch the guided tour here, and let’s see if this Richard Gere-ish guy, John, doesn’t grow on you, too. ;)
