headed for helsinki

In exactly 151 days from now, I will be in Helsinki, Finland.

Knut and I are attending the Finals night of the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest!

As reported in eurovision.tv, tickets for the Finals, slated on May 12 at 10 pm, were sold out 20 minutes after the phone lines for international ticket sales opened at 11 am CET today. We got ours 15 minutes into the phone selling, and it miraculously appeared somehow. We were told that tickets have been sold out, but the next three seconds, the operator found two seats at the Upper Section Row 1. It may not be the best seats in the house (the best ones are reserved for fanclub members and those buying multiple-event ticket packages), it may have cost us an arm and a leg (at 195 Euros per ticket), but what the heck, we will be there to experience it live.

We are arriving in Helsinki two days before the show to take in the sights of the city. We’ll be home the day after the show, hopefully with some Norwegian pride and cheer!

Can’t wait!

Hello infatuatedflip! Well, Eurovision has its highlights and downfalls when it comes to performances. Some are really spectacular, while a few others across several Eurovision contestsm sang out of tune. But it’s the biggest music competition all over Europe, and i’ll be there! Woohoo!!!

Yeah, we needed to plan waaaaay ahead, Shigeki. Not such a big fan of Lordi, either, but Eurovision Helsinki will be more than just them. Hopefully. Gay or not, I’ll definitely try one of their saunas!
