l’auberge espagnole

L Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Apartment) is a Cesar-nominated and awarded film about a French guy who went on a sojourn to Spain to join the Erasmus program and learn Catalan as a pre-requisite to a job he is applying for in France. After several hits and misses, he found himself sharing an apartment with seven other people of his age who hail from all corners of Europe: Denmark, Germany, Britain, Italy, etc.

Thus, L Auberge Espagnole, which also means a mixture of culture in Euro slang or as Xavier puts it, Euro Pudding.

It is a film about taking risks, jumping on that train or plane for a bout with the beyond, adapting to cultures, eliminating racial stereotypes, and more importantly, living and loving to your heart’s content.

Go see the movies and have a taste of Europe!

Cine Europa is ongoing at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall.
